Apiton Island, San Policarpio Eastern, Samar

Apiton Island is an ideal getaway located in the northern part of Eastern Samar. The island features a golden sand in the beach front of Zal-ann Resort, unique rock formations, a dark cave (maybe unexplored) pristine lagoons, coral reefs and diverse marine life. It takes about 15-20 minutes of boat ride from the town of San Policarpio before setting foot in the island.

It will probably take 5 to 6 hours of travel (both land and water) from Catbalogan City before arriving in the island resort.

What to ride in order to arrive in Eastern Samar?

One has to choose between Grandtours or JM Liner. If you want a comfy and fast travel, take Grandtours as an option (3 hours of Land Travel from Catbalogan) Grandtours is a transport company which plies to Tacloban, Calbayog, Catarman and recently they now have a route to Oras, Eastern Samar. Speaking of Oras, Eastern Samar, they are only bound in the town, not directly to San Policarpio Eastern Samar but don't worry, after hopping out of grandtours, you and your buddies can fetch a motorcab or a habal-habal plying to San Policarpio and the lines of those motorcab or habal-habal are near their terminal (would probably take 30-40 minutes of travel from Oras to the town of San Policarpio)

Fare to Oras, Eastern,Samar:120-130 pesos per head
Trip Schedule: 0700 H, 0900 H, 1100 H, 1300 H, 1600 H

Catbalogan City Terminal Adress: San Bartolome St, Catbalogan City Proper, Catbalogan City, 6700 Samar

If you and your buddies are not in a rush and a big fan of fresh air, take the Oras-San Policarpio trip of JM Liner. JM Liner is located in Catbalogan City's Terminal, the trip to the town is at 0900 H (be there at 0830 H) f you take this trip, there will be no more habal-habal fetching in Oras because the bus driver will drop you in the town of San Policarpio, the jumpoff to the island paradise. (Land Travel is between 5 hours and a-half)

Fare to San Policarpio is between 150-180

What to do once arrived in San Policarpio?

One has to go to their "Pantalan" or to their local fish port, there you will see a table which requires visitors to login and pay the environmental/municipal fee ( I think it was 10-20 pesos) and the motorboat that sails to the island is also waiting for the visitors there (boat fee, I think it was 500 pesos, for a roundtrip)
